Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Bonescleansing.ddd ("we", "us", "our") manages personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), Schedule 1 — the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) — and related Commonwealth legislation including the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. Where applicable, we also respect the rights of overseas visitors under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Our Commitment (APP 1 — Open and Transparent Management)

We are committed to managing personal information openly and transparently. This policy is written in clear language and describes what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you can access, correct, or complain about our handling of your information.

We will make this policy available free of charge on our website. You may request a printed copy by contacting us.

Physical address: 14/102 Wises Rd, Buderim QLD 4556, Australia

2. Application of the Privacy Act

We handle personal information in the course of operating our website and community information services in Australia. We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 and the APPs regardless of whether a small business exemption might otherwise apply, because transparent privacy practices are central to how we serve our audience.

This policy applies to personal information collected through bonescleansing.world, email, telephone, in-person events on the Sunshine Coast, and any related communication channels we operate.

3. What Personal Information We Collect (APP 3)

"Personal information" means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether true or not and whether recorded in material form or not (Privacy Act 1988, s 6).

Sensitive information (including health information) receives a higher level of protection under the Privacy Act. We do not require sensitive information to use this website. If you voluntarily include health or dietary details in a contact message, we will only use that information for the purpose of responding to your enquiry and will delete it when no longer needed, unless you consent to further use or the law requires retention.

We may collect the following types of personal information:

  • Identity and contact details: name, email address, telephone number (if provided), and message content submitted via our contact form or email.
  • Event registration details: name, email, and workshop preferences when you register interest in community sessions.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages viewed, session duration, referral URLs, and approximate location derived from IP (not precise GPS).
  • Cookie and preference data: cookie consent choices, analytics identifiers, and marketing preferences (see our Cookie Policy).
  • Communication records: content and metadata of emails, phone calls, or other correspondence with our team.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 15 without verified consent from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

4. How We Collect Personal Information

We collect personal information:

  • Directly from you when you submit forms, send emails, call us, attend events, or opt in to communications.
  • Automatically when you browse our website through server logs, cookies, and similar technologies (with consent for non-essential cookies).
  • From service providers such as hosting, email delivery, or analytics platforms acting on our instructions.

We collect personal information only by lawful and fair means. We do not collect personal information in an unreasonably intrusive way.

5. Collection Notice (APP 5)

At or before the time we collect personal information (or as soon as practicable afterwards), we notify you of the matters set out below. This section serves as our general collection notice; specific notices also appear at the point of collection (e.g. contact form, cookie banner).

  • Our identity and contact details: see Section 1.
  • What we collect and why: see Sections 3 and 6.
  • Consequences if you do not provide information: if you do not provide name and email, we cannot respond to enquiries or register you for events. You may browse most of the site without identifying yourself.
  • Who else we disclose to: see Section 7.
  • Overseas disclosure: see Section 9.
  • Our Privacy Policy: this document, available at privacy-policy.html.

Contact form notice: By submitting our contact form, you provide your name, email, and message so we can respond to your enquiry, improve our services, and comply with legal obligations. Submission is voluntary, but we cannot reply without contact details. See Section 6 for how we use this information.

6. Anonymity and Pseudonymity (APP 2)

Where it is lawful and practicable, you may interact with us anonymously or using a pseudonym — for example, by browsing our website without logging in or submitting forms.

We may need your real name and contact details to respond to enquiries, register you for workshops, or comply with legal obligations. We will inform you when anonymity or pseudonymity is not practicable.

7. Unsolicited Personal Information (APP 4)

If we receive personal information we did not solicit, we assess within a reasonable period whether we could have collected it under the APPs for one or more of our functions or activities. If not, we destroy or de-identify the information as soon as practicable, provided it is lawful and reasonable to do so. If we could have collected it, we handle it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

8. Purposes of Use and Disclosure (APP 6)

We collect, hold, use, and disclose personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, including:

  • Responding to enquiries, feedback, and workshop registrations.
  • Operating, maintaining, securing, and improving our website and content.
  • Detecting fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.
  • Conducting aggregated, de-identified analytics to understand content performance (with consent for non-essential cookies).
  • Sending event updates or newsletters where you have consented or an exemption under the Spam Act 2003 applies.
  • Complying with Australian law, court orders, or requests from regulators or law enforcement where required.

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Our staff and contractors who need access to perform their duties (bound by confidentiality).
  • IT hosting, email, website maintenance, and analytics providers in Australia and overseas (see Section 9).
  • Professional advisers (lawyers, accountants) where necessary.
  • Government agencies, courts, or regulators when required or authorised by law.

We will not use or disclose personal information for a secondary purpose unless you consent, you would reasonably expect the use or disclosure in the circumstances, or an APP exception applies (e.g. serious threat to life, health or safety; required or authorised by law; reasonably necessary enforcement activity).

We do not sell personal information.

9. Direct Marketing and the Spam Act 2003 (APP 7)

We may send commercial electronic messages (emails or SMS) about workshops, meal-planning resources, or related events only where:

  • you have given express consent (opt-in); or
  • a permitted exemption under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) applies (e.g. existing business relationship with conspicuous unsubscribe), and
  • the message identifies us as the sender and includes our contact details.

Every marketing message includes a functional unsubscribe facility. We honour unsubscribe requests within 5 working days, as required by the Spam Act. You may also opt out by emailing team@bonescleansing.world.

We do not use sensitive information for direct marketing without your express consent.

10. Cross-Border Disclosure (APP 8)

Some service providers may store or process personal information outside Australia, including in the United States, European Union, Singapore, or other countries where our hosting or analytics partners operate.

Before disclosing personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps under APP 8.1 to ensure the recipient does not breach the APPs in relation to the information — for example through contractual clauses, provider privacy certifications, or your informed consent where appropriate.

By using our website and consenting to analytics or marketing cookies, you acknowledge that some information may be processed overseas by third-party providers subject to their privacy policies. You may withdraw cookie consent at any time via our cookie banner or browser settings.

11. Government Related Identifiers (APP 9)

We do not adopt, use, or disclose government related identifiers (such as Medicare numbers, tax file numbers, driver's licence numbers, or Centrelink reference numbers) as our own identifiers, and we do not require you to provide them to use this website or contact us.

12. Data Quality (APP 10)

We take reasonable steps to ensure personal information we collect, use, and disclose is accurate, up to date, complete, and relevant to the purpose of collection. Please notify us promptly if your contact details change.

13. Data Security (APP 11)

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure, including:

  • TLS/HTTPS encryption for data in transit.
  • Access controls and role-based permissions for staff and contractors.
  • Secure hosting with reputable Australian and international providers.
  • Regular software updates and monitoring for security incidents.
  • Staff confidentiality obligations and privacy awareness practices.
  • Secure destruction or de-identification when information is no longer required.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own devices and email accounts.

14. Notifiable Data Breaches Scheme

We comply with Part IIIC of the Privacy Act (Notifiable Data Breaches scheme). If we suspect an eligible data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to affected individuals, we will:

  1. Take reasonable steps to contain the breach and assess the situation promptly.
  2. Prepare a statement describing the breach, the kinds of information involved, and recommended steps individuals should take.
  3. Notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as soon as practicable.
  4. Notify affected individuals as soon as practicable with our statement and support guidance.

If you believe your personal information held by us has been compromised, contact us immediately using the details in Section 1.

15. Access to Personal Information (APP 12)

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you. We will respond within 30 days of receiving your request (or notify you if an extension is required under the Privacy Act).

We will provide access in an appropriate format where possible. We may charge a reasonable fee for the administrative cost of providing access where permitted by law, but we will not charge you for making the request itself.

We may refuse access in circumstances permitted by the Privacy Act, including where access would pose a serious threat to life, health or safety; would unreasonably impact another person's privacy; is frivolous or vexatious; relates to existing or anticipated legal proceedings; or would reveal evaluative information in a commercially sensitive context. If we refuse, we will provide written reasons and information about your complaint options.

16. Correction of Personal Information (APP 13)

If you believe personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading, you may request correction. We will respond within 30 days.

If we refuse to correct information, we will provide written reasons. If you request, we will associate a statement with the information noting that you believe it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading.

Requests for access or correction: team@bonescleansing.world

17. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Processing

In line with evolving Australian expectations on algorithmic transparency and responsible AI use, we disclose the following:

17.1 AI-Generated or AI-Edited Website Content

Some written content on this website — including articles, meal-planning guides, FAQs, and descriptive text — may be drafted, structured, or edited using generative artificial intelligence tools. All AI-assisted content is reviewed by a human before publication. It is provided for general lifestyle information only and is not personalised advice.

17.2 AI-Generated or AI-Edited Images

Illustrative photographs and graphics displayed on this site (including meal, kitchen, and lifestyle imagery) may be created, enhanced, or composited using AI image tools. These images are for illustrative purposes only and may not depict real people, exact meals, or specific locations. They should not be relied upon as photographic evidence of our services or products.

17.3 Contact Enquiries — No Automated Chat Advice

Our website does not provide real-time AI chat consultations. Messages submitted through the contact form are handled by our team. We may use AI tools internally to help draft email responses; if we do, we will clearly indicate that AI assistance was used in our reply. We do not use fully automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects without human review.

17.4 Personal Information and AI Systems

We do not feed your contact form submissions into public AI training datasets. Where third-party AI service providers process data on our behalf, we use contractual safeguards and limit inputs to what is necessary. Analytics cookies, if enabled with your consent, may involve automated profiling of browsing behaviour — see our Cookie Policy to manage preferences.

17.5 Your Choices

If you prefer not to receive AI-assisted draft responses, state this in your message and we will reply manually. For questions about our use of AI, contact us using the details in Section 1.

18. Retention and Destruction

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described:

  • Contact form and email records: up to 24 months after last correspondence, unless law requires longer retention.
  • Analytics data: up to 26 months, aggregated or anonymised where possible.
  • Cookie consent logs: up to 12 months.
  • Server security logs: up to 90 days.

When personal information is no longer needed for any purpose for which it may be used or disclosed under the APPs, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it, unless retention is required or authorised by law (for example, record-keeping obligations).

19. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. Non-essential cookies (analytics and marketing) are activated only with your consent via our cookie banner, consistent with APP 3 and APP 5.

20. International Visitors (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies to you, you may have additional rights including data portability, restriction of processing, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us to exercise these rights. You may lodge a complaint with your local EU or UK supervisory authority.

21. Complaints (Internal Process and OAIC)

If you believe we have breached the APPs or mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve the matter:

  1. Email team@bonescleansing.world with "Privacy Complaint" in the subject line.
  2. We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 days.
  3. We will investigate and respond with our findings within 30 days. If we need more time, we will notify you and explain the delay.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), the independent regulator for privacy in Australia:

There is no cost to lodge a complaint with the OAIC. The OAIC may investigate, conciliate, or take other action under the Privacy Act.

22. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, OAIC guidance, technology, or our practices. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page before or when they take effect.
